FAQ / Behind the Book

1. What kind of publication is the Chandlers Coffee Table Book?

The Chandlers Coffee Table Book is a collectible publication celebrating the stories, journeys, and personal transformations of chandlers from around the world. Thoughtfully designed with fine-print production and premium materials, it is crafted to be a beautiful addition to any home, studio, or boutique space.

2. Who reads it?
Our readers are people who savor stories. They are drawn to transformation, craftsmanship, and the quiet magic of what happens when someone follows the spark of their own passion.

They include:

Story lovers and meaning seekers who enjoy cozy, reflective reads—often with a candle lit beside them.
Homeowners and collectors who value objects with soul and love surrounding themselves with pieces that inspire conversation.
Founders, boutique hoteliers, and creatives who are curious about the people behind intentional, handcrafted work.
Individuals who appreciate slow, mindful living and want to surround themselves with beauty, purpose, and human connection.

This isn’t a catalogue or a quick-profile flip-through.
Each chandler shares a deeply personal narrative—moments of transition, resilience, family bonding, creative breakthroughs, and the quiet rituals that shape their craft.
It’s for people who don’t just want to look at beautiful things—they want to feel something.

3. What’s included in participation?

Each participating chandler receives a thoughtfully crafted feature that honors their story, vision, and journey. Participation includes:

A 4–5 page editorial feature — written to capture not just what you do, but why you do it.

Professional storytelling, art direction, and layout, ensuring your narrative and visuals are presented with intention, beauty, and emotional resonance.

It is a narrative — your story, thoughtfully curated and told.

4. What does it cost?
Participation begins at $ 390 / € 340 — a symbolic contribution that supports part of the production process. We subsidise the majority of the overall costs so that independent studios and emerging chandlers can take part without compromising on aesthetic quality or editorial depth.

5. How is Meaning Living distributed?

Printed copies are shipped worldwide through our curated network of subscribers, partners, and select boutique stockists — including concept stores, bookstores, and hotels. We also prioritise distribution in the regions where our featured chandlers are based, ensuring the book reaches their communities and customers.

6. When is the final confirmation deadline?

The final confirmation deadline is 18 November 2025.

The original participant list was closed earlier in the year, but due to heartfelt requests from several studios, we opened a small, one-time extension to welcome a few additional chandlers into this volume. This window is short and final — once the deadline passes, we move into the editorial and production phase.

We will not be creating another book of this kind; this volume is designed to be published and distributed for many years to come as a timeless, ongoing edition.

7. What kind of aesthetic quality can I expect?

Meaning Living is crafted as an art publication, not a commercial catalogue.

Think tactile, uncoated paper with a soft matte feel.
A minimal, spacious layout that lets your story breathe.
Thoughtful typography and photography that captures emotion, presence, and authenticity.

The aesthetic quality is comparable to the refined, timeless style of Kinfolk Home—calm, intentional, beautifully curated. Each feature is designed to feel like a visual narrative, not an advertisement.

This is a collectible coffee table book meant to be kept, displayed, and revisited. A fine-print object that feels as meaningful to hold as it is to read.

9. What is the difference between the previous magazine and the upcoming coffee table book?

The previous magazine was a small-batch, limited print publication — a lighter, thinner magazine-style format created as an introduction to the world of chandlers. A few selected stories were later showcased online, but the magazine itself was never intended for reprint or long-term distribution.

The upcoming coffee table book is a completely different project.

It is a large-format, hardcover, fine-print publication — significantly thicker, more substantial, and crafted to be displayed in homes, studios, boutique hotels, and concept stores.

Where the magazine offered a glimpse,
the coffee table book offers immersion.

  • The magazine was a limited, exploratory edition.

  • The coffee table book is a collectible art object designed to be kept, revisited, and published for years to come.

This book isn’t simply something you read —
it’s something you live with.
